Usually personal shoppers are hired by well-to-do people and upwardly mobile professionals who are too busy to shop or who are unsure about what the current styles in clothes and accessories are. Shoppers are also retained for advice on furnishings and décor or by collectors who invest in objects d’art. The shopper may work with a large store or as an independent consultant.
Personal shoppers are well-versed in the latest fashions and know about all the brands available and their prices. Since they are required to work within a budget, they are aware of places where the best bargains are to be had.
In India, personal shopping, especially for brides and grooms to-be, is fast becoming a booming business.
