Where is the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park located?

The Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park is located on the island of St Kitts in the Federation of St Christopher and Nevis in the Eastern Caribbean. The fortress is situated on a steep hill named Brimstone which is near the western Caribbean coast of St Kitts.

This historical fortification was designed by British military engineers and constructed by the skilful labour of African slaves. The British brought up their cannons to the fortress in 1690 and used it to defeat the French.

Brimstone Hill and the fortress is maintained by the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park Society on behalf of the government. The society is a voluntary organization established in 1965. Its Council of Management has representatives elected from among the members and a pair of government nominees.
