Which are the volcanoes in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park?

Hawaii is well-known for its volcanoes and the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is one of the best places to view volcanoes. The site is an example of an island built through volcanic processes. The landscape of the park reflects the changes brought on by volcanic eruptions and the flow of lava.

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park contains two active volcanoes: the 4170-metre-high Mauna Loa and the 1250-metre-high Kilauea. The national park area stretches from the sea level to the top of Mauna Loa. A collection of volcanic wonders await those who journey through the park. These include lava frozen into grotesque shapes, cinder cones and gaping pits.

On the slopes of Kilauea, the greenery of rainforests and newly erupted lava can be seen side by side. The flora of the park is in different stages of development. As a result, there might be budding lichens and ferns as well as dense forests. The Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is a World Heritage Site.
