A palindrome is a word, number or sequence of words that reads the same either forward or backward. For example, racecar.

Origin

The term ‘palindrome’ is derived from the Greek rots palin meaning “again or back” and dromos meaning “course, direction, walkway.” It was coined by English poet and playwright Ben Jonson in the 17th Century.
