Why do badminton players change their racquets?

Racquet changes are common in all racquet sports, be it badminton, tennis, or squash. The most probable reasons why players go for a racquet change is to replace an older one that has undergone wear and tear while playing, with a brand new one.

Did you know that badminton is the only sport in which a racquet change can be done during a point? Yes, you read that right. While playing a rally, a badminton player can change their racquet and continue playing.

Considering that badminton is among the fastest sports played, changing a racquet during the rally needs a lot of practice. It is difficult, but not impossible, and is done even in the highest level of the game.
