Where is world’s first sandcastle hotel?

You may have heard of a hotel made from ice, now there is a hotel made from sand. The world’s first sand castle hotel has recently opened at Weymouth beach in the seaside town of dorset in the UK. The hotel was constructed from approximately 1000 tonnes of sand, built over 15sqm reaching a height of 4m.

Weymouth is an award-winning sandy beach overlooked by a magnificent Georgian seafront, located at the heart of the Jurassic Coastline. This sheltered bay has a gradually sloping seabed and clean waters for swimming and water sports, making it an ideal destination for families and visitors of every age. Alongside a wide range of catering outlets, traditional attractions include Punch and Judy shows, pedalos and a land train, as well as impressive sand sculptures during the summer months.

Weymouth’s thriving shopping area is just a short stroll from the beach, whilst the nearby historic harbour is overlooked by quaint restaurants, cafes and craft shops. The beach also hosts regular events, including festivals, sporting occasions and firework displays.

Weymouth Town Council Beach Attendants and RNLI Lifeguards patrol the resort beach between May and September to make sure that whether you want to experience a bucketful of fun, get your feet wet or just soak up the sunshine, Weymouth beach is the place to be!
