Short is a reading app that filters only short articles for you. When you’ve got just a few minutes to spare, the app offers up articles that you can read in a couple of minutes or less. This slick reading app connects to apps like Pocket, Instapaper and Readability, and sorts through your lists to group articles by reading time, letting you select an article that matches the time you want to spend reading. You can even monitor your reading progress to see how far into the article you are. Free for iOS.
Short is great for those of us who pack articles away into Pocket for reading at a later time, only to find the app bursting at the seam next time you log-on. Short is also handy for not allowing yourself to get halfway through an article before having to take a time-out.
Still, Short needs a bit of work. Though the website shows Feedly as an option, it doesn’t show as a channel you can add. We’d also like to see an offline reading option. As you can see in the video below, the team behind Short envision you using the app on a subway platform. That might not be so easy without an offline mode.
