Which are the eye-opening peculiar spots experiences?

A memorable sight in the Pacific Ocean

A cruise on the ocean is bound to be associated with memories of blue skies, bluer seas, seagulls, waves and dolphins… but forget these if you’re heading to the ‘Great Pacific Garbage Patch’, a swirling mass of garbage supposed to be twice the size of Texas. As you guessed, there are miles of water full of all the possible garbage you can think of, ruining the lives of marine life in every way you can imagine. If this ‘eco tour’ doesn’t shake you up and make you ponder about the plastic stuff overpowering our lives, nothing else will!

Put your masks on…

Do you like to visit a tourist spot where it’s mandatory to wear gas masks? Like all the time? Then you’d love exploring Miyakejima, one of the volcanically active islands south of Tokyo. If you think the poisonous sulfur vapours from the volcanic smoke is the only frightening part, then you must remember that the volcano erupted six times in the last century itself. That’s a lot, isn’t it? Surely the post-apocalyptic atmosphere and the possibility of dolphin sightings overweigh the dangers.

A place for poisonous flora

The Duchess of Northumberland probably guessed what fascinates kids, teens and adults alike – poisonous and dangerous plants all in one garden! Oh, the thrill of it… There are more than a hundred plant varieties of varying deadliness. You can even find the cannabis plant here, except it’s inside a cage, far from anyone’s reach.

Re-live the Ice Age

Ever wondered what the Ice Age must have been like? Until a time machine is possible, and you’re still not sure if you can test your survival skills in Antarctica, you have the other best option the Icehotel in Sweden. It speaks and breathes ‘ice’ everywhere! Starting from the glasses you drink out of to the beds you sleep on, everything is made of ice. While you do get to use polar-tested sleeping bags to sleep on, there are no heating facilities, and expect the room temperature to be no less than -5°C!

Door to Hell

It all started off with a simple and good intention. When a team discovered gas deposits in Turkmenistan, they were worried that the poisonous gases leaking out of the drilled hole would spread and affect the local population. How do you get rid of it? Burn it up, of course! They estimated that the gas would burn out in a few weeks. They were slightly wrong. It’s been a little over four decades, and the fire is still raging as merrily as ever. Ummm, maybe the lesson is ‘haste makes waste’?
