The BoringPhone Is a Minimalist Smartphone That Reduces Distraction

BoringPhone is a smartphone for those who want to disconnect while still having access to the basic functions of a smartphone. The phone has a 5.5″ display, 32GB storage, 3000mAh battery, 4GB RAM, Snapdragon 625 chipset, 12MP camera, Bluetooth and a USB-C charger. Encouraging people to “get out of your phone and into your life”, BoringPhone lets you call, text, take photos, use maps, podcasts, hot spot and listen to music/ podcasts, but say goodbye to mindlessly scrolling through social media, playing games, using email or browsers. The ability to install new apps has been completely removed, forcing you to look up from your phone, enjoy life and transform your phone “back to being a tool”.

Positioned as an alternative to a smartphone and a dumb phone, the device features the ability to make calls, send texts, take photos, listen to podcasts and even get directions using GPS. The device doesn’t, however, allow for emails, Internet browsing, social media use, gaming or access to the millions of apps on the market.
