Trailblazer is a noun which refers to a person who does something before anyone else does and shows that it is possible for other people.. Trailblazer is a leader or a pioneer in a particular field. It also refers to a person who marks or prepares a trail through a forest for other people to follow.

Origin

The word trailblazer is believed to have been in use since 1905. It comes from the combination of two words – trail meaning ‘path’ and blaze+er meaning to mark (a trail) with blazes.

Usage

Bachendri Pal is a trailblazer as she became the first Indian woman mountaineer to reach the summit of Mt. Everest in 1984.
