I am in Std XII Science (PCB+PE). I want to pursue a career in Environmental Science. I’m planning to join an institute offering B.Sc. in Environmental Science after I complete my school education. But the problem I am facing as of now is regarding the institute. Please suggest some good institutes offering this course in India.
Environmental Science is largely concerned with forestry, wildlife and environment protection and organizing awareness campaigns. Being a research oriented field, generally post graduation is preferred for good jobs. Still, some institutions have begun to offer subjects related to environmental studies at graduation level. Some of these are Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra; Assam University; St Joseph’s Arts and Science College, Bangalore; University of Delhi, Delhi; Vivekananda College, Kolkata; University of Madras, Chennai.
If you wish to do a B.Sc. in Environmental Science, then you will have to opt for the PCB (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) stream. For a B.E./B.Tech in Environmental Engineering, you need to have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at 10+2 level.
