Designed by UK firm Laura Sapiens, the Ego! Smartmouse stores your digital identity and files, allowing you to move across various computers and systems. In addition to being an optical mouse, it has an accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, touch pad, embedded VGA camera and it even runs its own Linux OS. Not only can you utilize its available 2GB, 4GB or 8GB of flash memory as a portable storage device, but it also comes with cloud storage.
Connect the Ego! to a Mac or PC and install the software; the mouse identifies itself with the computer via a QR code (using the mouse’s internal camera). Using Bluetooth, the user has access to the files and profiles associated with the mouse. The mouse can be moved to other computers and you’ll find this same data on each one after it’s synchronized. The cloud system is equipped with a security function that allows you to block access to this info at any time.
The Ego! can also be used as a 3D pointing device, portable game controller or a remote for controlling media playback while your computer is hooked up to your TV. Plus, it works with smartboards as a presentation mouse and it vibrates whenever you receive a new email or have an appointment.
