I want to become a commercial pilot

I am a Std XI student and my subjects are physics, chemistry and maths. My dream is to become a commercial pilot, but due to the present situation of airlines in India I’m a bit confused whether I should go forward or choose another line?

Jobs for airline pilots fluctuate with the economy. The demand for air travel increases with the growing population and expanding economy and in turn, increases the demand for airline pilots. Even large corporate houses with their own aircraft require the services of pilots. With globalization jobs as commercial pilots are available in airline companies outside India like USA, UK, Australia and some European countries. But due to increase in ticket fares, there may be a decline in air travel, leading to decrease in the number of planes and airline pilots flying.

If you are really keen on becoming a pilot, there is another route. Join the Indian Air Force and become a flying officer. After finishing your graduation, you can enter the flying branch through the Air Force Academy, which is one of the most prestigious training establishments of the Indian Air Force. Selection is through the Combined Defence Services Examination (CDSE). Upon successful completion of the training, cadets are absorbed as permanent commissioned officers.
