I am in Std VIII and I am planning on becoming a teacher when I grow up. I am average in studies. Should I take commerce or science? I love maths and science. Which degrees are required to become a teacher? Will I earn well in this field?
You love maths and science, so why are you even thinking about commerce? It will be easier to teach those subjects in which you have mastery. To become a school teacher, you need to have a B.Ed. (Bachelor in Education). For this you should have at least a graduate degree. So, you should first complete 10+2 in the stream of your liking followed by 3 years’ graduation. To teach 10+2 students you need to have master’s in the subject you want to specialize in. Money is good in this profession, but not as good as in private firms. But in the teaching field, working hours are much less and work pressure is also not that much.
