What is the meaning, origin and usage of the word ‘Succinct’?

Meaning: Succinct means clearly expressed, brief, and not verbose.

Origin: The term traces its origin to the Latin succinctus ‘tucked up or wrapped tight, which comes from the verb cingere, meaning ‘gird or encircle’ (sub- from below + cingere ‘gird’) which gave us the word ‘cinch’.

Usage: The child has used short, succinct sentences in her essay on the cow.
