Who wrote the first Hunger Games book?

American writer Suzanne Collins is the author of the best-selling 'The Hunger Games' series and 'The Underland Chronicles.'Suzanne Collins is an American author who published her debut book, Gregor the Overlander, the first of the five-part The Underland Chronicles, in 2003. In 2008, her first book of The Hunger Games series was published. The best-selling trilogy was adapted into a blockbuster film series starring Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen.

While The Underland Chronicles made Collins a well-known author, it was her next series that ratcheted up her celebrity status. As Collins later recalled, The Hunger Games trilogy was born while she was watching television late one night. Flipping through the channels, Collins was suddenly struck by the lack of distinction between reality TV and coverage of the Iraq war: "We have so much programming coming at us all the time," she says. "Is it too much? Are we becoming desensitized to the entire experience? ... I can't believe a certain amount of that isn't happening."

The Hunger Games revolves around the series' rebel heroine, Katniss Everdeen, who lives in the post-apocalyptic nation of Panem, formerly known as North America. In Panem, the Hunger Games are an annual event in which young boys and girls fight to the death in a televised battle.

For Collins, The Hunger Games and her other books touch on the very subjects—necessary and unnecessary wars—that her own father often discussed with her. "If we introduce kids to these ideas earlier, we could get a dialogue about war going earlier and possibly it would lead to more solutions," she says. "I just feel it isn't discussed, not the way it should be. ... I know from my experience that we are quite capable of understanding things and processing them at an early age."

The series' first book, The Hunger Games, was released in 2008. Its two sequels, Catching Fire and Mockingjay, were published in 2009 and 2010, respectively. The series became a huge success, selling more than 100 million copies around the world.

What year did the Muppet movie come out?

The Muppet Movie is a 1979 musical road comedy film directed by James Frawley and produced by Jim Henson. The Muppet Movie is the first of a series of live-action musical feature films starring the Muppets. The film is a movie-in-a-movie, as we see Kermit the Frog and the rest of the Muppets gathering for the first screening of "The Muppet Movie." Kermit notes to his nephew Robin as the lights dim that the movie is a somewhat fictionalized account of the true story of how the Muppets first got together.

The movie was a critical and commercial success. In 2009, the film was selected by the U.S. National Film Preservation Board for preservation in the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress.

The Muppet Movie began filming on July 5, 1978, and proceeded over 87 days in the summer and fall of that year[2], during a production break partway through the taping of the third season of The Muppet Show (between Helen Reddy and Harry Belafonte). The film was scored by Paul Williams and Kenny Ascher, and their song "Rainbow Connection" received an Academy Award nomination. The movie is dedicated to ventriloquist Edgar Bergen, who made his final film appearance in this movie. In a 2004 interview, John Landis revealed that he was the puppeteer for Grover during the final sequence, as Frank Oz was busy operating Miss Piggy. Landis also noted that Tim Burton was also among the many puppeteers in the finale.

Filming began on March 23, 2009, and ran until late May. Principal photography took place in Vancouver, Canada and Montepulciano, Tuscany, Italy.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Chris Weitz said that instead of going with the book's route of having Bella hear Edward's voice, they used a flittering image of Edward.

On September 9, L.A. Times published more than 40 photos taken on the New Moon set. Some of them give a good impression of what the new film will look like.

In How To Train Your Dragon, who is the son of a Viking warrior?

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III is the main protagonist of the DreamWorks animated How to Train Your Dragon franchise. He is the son of Valka and the late Hooligan chief, Stoick the Vast, thus making him the heir, and later, the chief of the tribe. He is 15 years old in the first film, Dragons: Riders of Berk and possibly 16 by the end of Dragons: Defenders of Berk, 18 to 20 years old in Dragons: Race to the Edge, 20 years old in How to Train Your Dragon 2, 21 years old in How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, and 30 in the epilogue and Homecoming. His dragon and best friend, Toothless, is a Night Fury, the rarest and most intelligent of the dragon species.

By the end of the franchise, he marries Astrid Hofferson and they eventually have a daughter, Zephyr, and a son, Nuffink.

In the first film, Hiccup's appearance is very similar to his book counterpart. He is rather scrawny for his age, compared to the other Vikings, and isn't very tall, being around Astrid's height. He initially has little physical strength, as he has difficulty lifting a large standard battle axe handed to him by his father. He has bell-shaped auburn hair parting to his right with freckles on his cheeks and dull, green eyes. One of his more unique traits is a small, white scar just below his bottom lip on the right side of his chin, which he received as a baby the night Cloudjumper took his mother away, to the nest of the Bewilderbeast.

In the first film, he is usually seen wearing a long-sleeve, light-green woolen tunic with brown leather lacing at the neck and arms, a dark brown fur vest that matches his boots and dark greyish-green pants with lacing at the ankle. When he's working in the Blacksmith Shop, he removes his vest in favor of a beige smelting apron. When he rides Toothless, he takes off his vest and wears a leather flying harness that attaches to Toothless' saddle. After Dragon Training, he starts to wear a Viking helmet given to him by his father made from half of his mother's breastplate (Stoick owning and wearing the other half). Following the battle with the Red Death, Hiccup's left leg up to his shin was replaced with a metal prosthetic, constructed with a spring system and an adapter stirrup for flying with Toothless. This event deepened the connection between Hiccup and Toothless, both of them now have a prosthetic left appendage.
